Would my grace have stretched a little further?

Would my heart have stayed soft?

You gave in to the demons

You succumbed to the pain

You believed the lie

That your life would always be the same 

If I had known your darkest days 

And your words after we’d hang up the phone 

If I had known the torment 

Would I have done everything I could, so you weren’t alone?

Your life had purpose

Your life had meaning 

If only you could have believed the truth
